Helping my baby sleep better

I have read lately that by using a baby sleeping bag it can help your baby sleep throughout the whole night. The reason why they say this is because the baby will not be kicking off its blankets during the night and thus not getting cold, thus not waking up, thus not waking up the parents, us.

So I started thinking about this and I don't think that my baby will be big enough right away even at three months to be kicking off its blankets, but hey what do I know, I haven't even had my baby yet.

By the way, the due date is on sunday so we are very excited for that day to come and to meet our new baby boy.

Okay enough of that. I am not sure if my baby is going to like to be swaddled or what is going to happen. I know that I will be ready for it with my swaddling blanket and with my baby sleeping bag/blanket. They say that the baby sleeping bag can be a great transition tool from the swaddling phase to the big boy blanket phase.

I hope that my baby sleeps throughout the night but I know that in the beginning I will be up every two hours to feed him but after that phase of breast feeding I hope that he is able to sleep throughout the night. I hope that he keeps warm and I know it is hard to know how to tell that in a new baby but I have read that by feeling his chest that is a good way of knowing his temperature.

We got our first baby sleeping bag today

Well today was the day we got our first baby sleep bag. It is made out of fleece and it is super soft. I haven't read too many things about fleece but I think it is a synthetic material and we want to go as natural as possible so we will see what other baby sleeping bags we get.

It is a sleeveless design with a zipper going down the front. The shoulder straps don't have snaps but I think I can live without it. The size is 3-6 months so it will be a while till our little one can sleep in it.

I am looking forward to getting different types of sleeping bags for my little baby. I think they are so cute. There are so many different types of designs out there for a mother to chose from its awesome.

In future posts I will list some websites that I think are really neat for you to check out but for now I know that my blog is super new and not many people are reading this everyday.

I can't wait for my baby to get here, I am so excited and getting pretty impatient about the whole thing, I mean. Will it ever happen? Will this baby ever come out? Well there I go getting sidetracked. I started this blog to talk about my baby sleeping bags of which I have one right now.

I know these aren't too popular here in the United States right now but they are super popular over in Europe and I bet they will gain popularity here in the US the more people read about them and use them. Pretty sweet stuff.

Me and My Baby Sleeping Bag

Hello everyone!

My name is Melissa and me and my husband are going to be having a child here really really soon. I am doing some research on the baby sleeping bag because I have never heard of it before I became pregnant. This is a pretty neat piece of apparel, so I decided I would blog about it.

We have gotten many baby sleeping bags already for gifts from the many baby showers we have had. They are all different. Some of them have sleeves, some of them don't have sleeves, some of them are made of fleece, some flanel, and some just plain cotton.

Doing research on the web, I have discovered that there are so many different types of baby sleeping bags out there. There are some pretty pricey ones that are made out of this glorious material called merino wool. If I had the money I would purchase one made out of this fabric but they are pretty pricey.

It can be overwhelming with all the different choices but hopefully we can go on this journey together. So hopefully another mom can take advantage of my journey so she doesn't have to go through it all herself and save her a ton of time if she is interested in using the baby sleeping bag.
